It prompted several investors to ask me if such a statement may result in unicoins being classified as a security.
The answer is "No; not under the new SEC Crypto Taxonomy."
On November 12, 2025, SEC Chairman Atkins said that, to be considered securities, issuers must make explicit and unambiguous promises to engage in essential managerial efforts that lead to the expectation of profits.
SafeBets is not an issuer of unicoins, so even if SafeBets were to make promises, those promises would not make unicoins "securities".
Out of abundance of caution, though, I wrote "I expect SafeBets to invest.." and an expectation cannot be confused with a promise, let alone "explicit and unambiguous promise."
